Apricot trees

Rich in vitamin A, beta-carotene, and other carotenoids, apricots are excellent for promoting eye health and help to reduce the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts. These trees can come in winter-hardy variations and are self-fruitful, so you don’t need to rely on pollinators to yield an abundant crop. However, apricots are at risk for diseases like bacterial canker which causes the formation of dark, sunken sores at the base of buds and randomly along trunks and limbs. Apricots are also susceptible to pests like mites and aphids. Properly spraying and pruning will ensure that your apricot tree is healthy and bears delicious fruit for years to come.
